Last month, the team at our Dickinson headquarters got the special treat of meeting the governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum. Gov. Burgum stopped by to hear about why a company like Trial Runners, which is rare in the North Dakota economy chooses to make its home in the Roughrider State.
Our CEO, Jill Healy, along with our executive chairman and her husband, Patrick Healy, shared the story of the founding of Trial Runners. After moving to the East Coast for more opportunities in the industry, Jill wanted to return back to Dickinson where she was born and raised, but didn’t want to cease working in an industry she loved. Thus, Trial Runners was born – specifically at the Healy’s kitchen table 12 years ago.
Since our humble beginnings, Trial Runners has expanded with three additional locations and now boasts 60 employees. But despite our growth, we’re still loyal to our North Dakota roots, and want to stay that way. We love Dickinson, and we want to do our part to make Dickinson the community that the fine people of this city and state deserve.
Gov. Burgum is also committed to doing his part, and is heavily investing in historic downtown Dickinson via the Main Street Initiative, which plans on revamping the downtown area through advocacy and grants. Because Trial Runners is headquartered downtown, we are so excited to be a part of this initiative as well as to see where the initiative takes both us and our neighboring businesses in Dickinson and the state of North Dakota.
We were honored to be able to share our story with Gov. Burgum and equally honored to spend the afternoon with him and his team. We’re excited to continue to invest in our hometown along with our governor, and look forward to seeing where this investment takes us!
